What the sheets look like

Each character starts with its stroke order: the red stroke is the one to write next, and the dot shows where to start. Trace the grey characters, then fill the empty boxes on your own.

Why these sheets

  • Stroke order you can trust. Every character is drawn from KanjiVG stroke data, and the stroke count of every kanji is checked against KANJIDIC2.
  • Examples at your level. The example words and sentences for each kanji use only kanji from the same JLPT level or below, so you can read them while you learn. They are written and checked by a native Japanese speaker living in Japan.
  • Free to print and share. Every set comes as an A4 and a US Letter PDF under CC BY-SA 4.0, so teachers can copy them for class.
